| Summary: | The present investigation was carried out with the purpose of comparing the soil macrofauna in the agrosystems of plantain crops (Musa spp), in the area of El Carmen, Manabí; For which 18 plantain producing farms were located, such as nine monocultures and nine associated with other crops, each type of agrosystem was classified in size, three banana plantations with less than 5 ha, three with between 5 and 10 ha and three with more of 10 ha, in this way 6 treatments were arranged with three repetitions; In each farm six samples were taken with a quadrant of 25 * 25 cm2, and all the species that can be observed with the naked eye were counted, they were classified by order, family, genus, species and stage of the biological cycle. The results determine that the larvae are more frequent in monocultures (47 individuals) and in farms smaller than 5 ha (33 individuals), while the adults appear to be more localized in associated crops (520 individuals) and in the sizes of farm there was a greater amount of macrofauna was in the <5 ha (371 individuals); the species belonging to the order of Coleoptera presented the highest number of individuals in the farms with 156 individuals in associated crops and 116 in farms smaller than 5 ha; In terms of diversity, banana trees larger than 10 ha and with associated crops present greater species diversity in counts with 3.3 and 3.2 in the Shannon index. |
