| Sumario: | Low-carbon development is a necessity throughout the world to mitigate climate change, and it is also seen as a way of economic growth, transformation and industrial modernization. The objective of this article is to analyze the impact of low-carbon pilot cities on employment and provide a specific reference that promotes the coordinated and sustainable development of the regional economy. For this reason, a quantitative and correlational investigation was developed using the difference-in-differences (DD) Method, with a population of 289 cities at the prefecture level in China from 2000 to 2018. The results of the study show that the regulations of pilot cities low in Carbon has an important role in promoting social aspects such as work; This conclusion remains valid after a series of robustness tests and propensity score matching estimates. Analysis of low-carbon pilot city policies by industry and region shows that they play an important role in employment in secondary and tertiary industries, and the promotion effect is more obvious in employment in the eastern region. Therefore, it would be worth reviewing its relevance in Latin America |
