Descripción
Sumario:
The chapter describes the features of the morphology, biology, and life cycle of Schistosoma turkestanicum Skrjabin, 1913. Synonyms of the above species and a list of definitive and intermediate hosts are presented in this chapter. This chapter also describes the localisation of the parasite, places of detection, morphometric parameters, and all phases of development of Sch. turkestanicum. The features of the development of parthenogenetic and dioecious generations of Sch. turkestanicum under experimental conditions are explained in the chapter. Emissions of cercariae were determined depending on photo-, thermo-, and geotaxis. The dependence of molluscs Lymnaea auricularia by larvae of Sch. turkestanicum on the seasons of the year has been established. A molecular genetic analysis of the population of mature schistosomes is presented. The morpho-biological features of Sch. turkestanicum and the circulation of invasions are substantiated on a large natural and experimental material.
