| Sumario: |
Among animal schistosomiasis, schistosomiasis caused by Sch. turkestanicum is the most common in many countries of Asia and Europe. This chapter highlights the features of the epizootic process of schistosomiasis in domestic animals (sheep, goats, cattle, camels, horses) in Uzbekistan. Stationary foci of animal schistosomiasis are located in the lower reaches of the Amu Darya River—in the farms of Karakalpakstan and the Khorezm region, where the infection rate of cattle, sheep and horses reaches from 18.7 to 43.7%. Sporadic cases of schistosomiasis in small and large cattle were also noted in the farms of North-Eastern Uzbekistan. There was also a significant distribution of Sch. turkestanicum among mammals in the post-Soviet countries (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Russia) and other countries of the world (Mongolia, China, Iraq, Iran, India, Pakistan, Turkey, France, Hungary, etc.). Materials are presented for the forecast of the occurrence of schistosomiasis in animals in the zones of development, irrigation and watering of lands.
|
