Sumario:
This chapter is devoted to the problem of human cercariasis, parasitic diseases caused by cercariae (larvae) of trematodes of the family Schistosomatidae, parasitising in a mature (marita) state in the circulatory system of mammals and water birds. Man is not a specific host for them, however, schistosomatid cercariae, including Schistosoma turkestanicum, are able to actively penetrate through its skin in a pond, causing skin lesions (dermatitis) and toxic effects. It pays great attention to the spread of human cercariasis and clinical manifestations of the disease in Uzbekistan and other countries of Asia and Europe. Examples of the spread of cercariasis and their foci in the reservoirs of the Amudarya, Syrdarya, Chirchik rivers within Uzbekistan and their prevention will be seen.
