Descripción
Sumario:
The chapter falls within the broad context of the study of the stability of continuous-time linear control systems and the design of related PI controllers. The study presents a synthesis of the stability domains of PI controller parameters in the case of second- and third-order process control systems and analyzes the specific choice of these parameters. In determining the stability domains, the Hurwitz stability criterion is used. The paper has a didactic, illustrative character, presenting the domains of stability analytically and graphically, with case studies, simulations and examples. Several values are taken for the controller parameters, from the determined domains, and the frequency characteristics of the open-loop system and the unitary step signal responses of the closed loop are determined, which test the calculated stability domain.
