Sumario:Botulinum neurotoxin injections are currently the most popular non-surgical cosmetic therapy for treating hyperdynamic lines and rebalancing face muscles all over the world. However, there is emerging interest in the use of the neuromodulator for the treatment of non-cosmetic clinical conditions. The present evidence supporting the use of Botulinum toxin in the treatment of acne and oily skin, rosacea, alopecia areata and androgenic alopecia, scar prevention and therapy, postherpetic neuralgia, hyperhidrosis, and disorders exacerbated by sweating is discussed in this chapter. Case reports and a few randomized controlled trials are used to support the use of Botulinum toxin in several of these illnesses. Nonetheless, the therapeutic application of Botulinum toxin in various skin conditions linked with discomfort, inflammation, and hyperhidrosis has a lot of promise.
