Sumario:A study was made about a by-product derived from the bakery industry (liquid organic matter), which depending on its handling can cause environmental pollution. Chemic and microbiologic analysis were made. It has high nivel of carbon, potassium and manganese as well as aminoacids, acid fulvic and wide range of microorganisms benefic to soil and plant nutrition. Likewise, organic matter was evaluated in field on 3 crops in Columbian country: rice, roses and banana in three different locations. Applications edaphic were made. In edaphic treatment three doses were used: 120, 200 and 400 l/ha/cycle and control. These application were made monthly. The experimental design was completely randomized blocks. The variables evaluated were: monitoring of the development and phenological status of the plants, chlorophyll level, plant biomass, precocity, production and quality. Rice and roses crops were observed an effect on production, fruit quality and stimulation of lateral growths (tillering and basal growing, respectively). In banana crops there were no significant differences in the development of the plant indicating that possibly the doses used are not adequate.
